After prevailing in the May OCYR Straw Poll for District 8, State Representative Kurt Kelly issued this statement.
I thank the Orange County Young Republicans for their support and votes. Whether it is the numerous endorsements that I have received from current elected leaders from throughout the district or winning straw polls from Central Florida Republican Party organizations, it just reinforces that our campaign is gaining district-wide support from the voters as we work to defeat the liberal Alan Grayson in November.
Kelly currently serves District 24 in the Florida House of Representatives. He is challenging Alan Grayson for the district eight congressional seat. Kelly has recently been endorsed by the Associated Industries of Florida, Congressman Cliff Stearns, Florida House Speaker Larry Cretul and elected officials from Orange, Lake, Osceola, Marion Counties and from throughout the state.
