OCYRs Endorse Jeff Atwater for CFO!

At last week’s meeting of the Orange County Young Republicans, the organization adopted a resolution formally endorsing State Senator Jeff Atwater for Chief Financial Officer of Florida. The resolution’s text is as follows:

RESOLUTION BY THE THE MAJORITY OF MEMBERS OF THE ORANGE COUNTY YOUNG REPUBLICANS, INC.

The undersigned, being a majority of the Members of ORANGE COUNTY YOUNG REPUBLICANS, INC., a Florida not for profit Corporation (“OCYR”), holding a regular meeting of the Members of OCYR on August 10, 2010, and waiving notice thereof, do hereby vote for the adoption of, and do hereby adopt the following resolution:

WHEREAS, OCYR is prohibited from endorsing candidates with Republican primary opponents;

WHEREAS, Senate President Jeff Atwater is unopposed in the 2010 Republican primary;

WHEREAS, Senate President Jeff Atwater served with distinction in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2002 and in the Florida Senate from 2002 to 2010 and as Senate President from to 2008 to 2010;

WHEREAS, OCYR believes it to be in the best interest of the State of Florida to have Senate President Jeff Atwater serve as Florida’s next Chief Financial Officer;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that OCYR hereby endorses Senate President Jeff Atwater for the position of Florida Chief Financial Officer in the 2010 election.
